B.o.B, Ke$ha, More L.A. Gigs Kick-Start VMA Weekend
Jason Derülo, Sean Kingston will also perform prior to Sunday's big show.
By Kara Warner
Although the MTV Video Music Awards aren't until Sunday, a slew of VMA-themed concerts featuring Ke$ha, B.o.B and others will take over Los Angeles in the days leading up to the big show.
Sean Kingston kicks things off Thursday night (September 9) with the Verizon Club Night Concert Event at Hollywood's Playhouse, where Jermaine Dupri will also be spinning. On Friday night, Jason Derülo and Never Shout Never will take the Music Box stage at a concert sponsored by Taco Bell and Feed the Beat.
On Saturday night, "Rock Band 3" and FreeCreditScore.com will present the 2010 MTV VMA Concert to Benefit Lifebeat — The Music Industry Fights AIDS, featuring VMA nominees Ke$ha and B.o.B. The "Tik Tok" singer said she is honored to play a show benefiting such an important cause. "It's really awesome that MTV can bring together incredible musicians over VMA weekend, not only to entertain, but to make a difference," she said. "The world of celebrity is a funny game, although it's a great feeling to have the opportunity to use my fame for a good cause helping those in need."
B.o.B is equally excited to perform for a good cause: "The road to the VMAs has been a wild one. I'm glad to be taking time the night before the big show to support a great organization. Lifebeat's message of HIV prevention is an important one for young people, and I am honored to join them in the fight."
Tickets for the Ke$ha and B.o.B event, with all proceeds going to Lifebeat, are available at Lifebeat.org.
The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. The party starts with MTV News' VMA Pre-Show at 8 p.m., followed by the main event at 9 p.m. ET. Fans can go to VMA.MTV.com (or text VMA to 97979 if they are Verizon subscribers) to vote for Best New Artist from now through Sunday.

'30 Rock' Recap: Sex Bomb
30 Rock. Jack pitches a nightmare of a reality show to an executive friend while Jonathan marvels at his grace, power, and acumen. He grows frantic the minute Lemon arrives because he doesn't want Jack's winning streak to be thwarted. On the contrary, Jack calls her in, assured of his own hot streak.
"When you're pitching a perfect game, you don't walk Albert Pujols," he tells her. "And you are the Albert Pujols of having problems." Lemon approaches, wary that she'll mar his record, but he's high off of a wonderful 24 hours including a rollicking session of lovemaking with Avery, for which she wrote him a thank-you note.

Judge Nixes O.J. Simpson Appeal; World Devastated
Christie Prody, Fred Goldman and anyone with a conscience can rest easy after O.J. Simpson lost his appeal of a kidnapping and robbery conviction today.
Juice recruited some lowlife thugs, instructed them to "get some heat", a la Stringer Bell, and jacked a memorabilia dealer to reclaim "his" stuff in 2008.
The Nevada Supreme Court upheld the ruling in the case, stating that none of O.J.'s complaints had merit, and that he should continue doing time.
O.J. appealed on grounds of racial bias, saying prosecutors axed African-American jurors unfairly, and didn't allow his attorneys to ask certain questions.
Specifically, about the two people he killed in 1994.
The former Heisman winner and NFL Hall of Fame member was sentenced to 33 years in prison, with a possibility for parole on good behavior after nine.
Interestingly, one of Simpson's cohorts, Clarence Stewart, is also appealing, arguing that Simpson's involvement unfairly prejudiced a jury against him.
No idea how that would possibly happen ...

Britney Spears Tweets About 'Glee' Tribute Episode
'I loved it!' writes the pop star, who also thanked fans and shared her thoughts on the show's covers.
By James Dinh
Britney Spears and Heather Morris on the set of "Glee"

Britney Spears fans are a force to be reckoned with. Earlier this year, they campaigned for an episode of "Glee" to be dedicated solely to their favorite pop princess. And after much anticipation, on Tuesday night the students of McKinley High shimmied, crooned and danced their way in tribute to the entertainer. The singer took to Twitter to thank her fans for their efforts and shared her thoughts on the program, titled "Britney/Brittany," and its covers of her songs.
"I loved it! Thank you guys SO much for making this happen!" Britney tweeted. In particular, the star seemed to enjoy the renditions of her classic tunes, saying, "I love this version of Stronger. Artie did a great job," and "The GLEE version of Toxic is amazing!"
While some of the McKinley High students — including Cheerio cheerleader Brittany S. Pearce (played by Heather Morris) — went into anesthesia--induced dream sequences to channel their inner Britney, Spears herself emerged throughout the episode's hallucinogenic fantasies. Appearing as Madonna's character at the end of "Me Against the Music," a high-school teacher in "... Baby One More Time" and a fellow cheerleader, the singer remained a source of inspiration for the Gleekers.
Spears gave kudos to co-star Morris, saying, "Awww Heather Morris is sooo cute! Brittany S Pearce. Ha! She was so fun to work with and was really sweet in person."
The singer not only applauded Morris' friendliness, but also her rendition of "I'm a Slave 4 U." She wrote of the sultry production, "Slave: Oh ... My ... God ...! Those little boys are SO cute! I know how hard it is to dance with that snake! Nice job." The pop star also was surprised at how well the show re-created the music video set of her 2003 Madonna duet, "Me Against the Music," pointing out that it "looks just like the original," and adding, "Santana does a great Madonna impression."
As the students walked Spears through memory lane, Lea Michele's cover of "... Baby One More Time" also had the singer reminiscing. "Watching Baby brings back so many memories! Feels like yesterday," she explained.
John Stamos also made a guest appearance in the episode, as the dentist who sends the Gleeks into Britney world. Spears made it clear that the 47-year-old actor looks as good as he did during his heyday. "John Stamos is still hot! He looks the same as he did on Full House," she tweeted.
As with many "Glee" fans, Britney found a pleasantly odd interest in Jane Lynch, who plays the aggressive cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, describing the actress as "hilarious and scary all rolled into one."
Spears wasn't the only one who enjoyed filming the tribute episode — the "Glee" castmembers recently dished on working with the star. Morris told Australian magazine TV Week that the singer was her childhood inspiration. "She was my idol from, like, age 12 to 16," she said. "I sang to her [songs] in my living room and danced to her — I learned all her moves. And I had my talent shows and I lip-synched to her. I just kept flashing back to growing up and being obsessed with her."
Naya Rivera, who plays Santana, also spoke highly of the pop icon. "I love Britney Spears. I mean, who doesn't? We all grew up with her," she proclaimed in a promo video for the show. "The first music purchase I ever made was '... Baby One More Time' on cassette. [It was like], 'Britney Spears is going to be in my mitts, what do I do?' [And I was like], 'Hi Britney!' And then she was like, 'Hey!' She was awesome and beautiful. She was, like, magical."

Jay-Z, Eminem Close Yankee Stadium Shows With Kanye West, Drake
Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, 50 Cent also make appearances at last of four Home and Home concerts.
By Jayson Rodriguez

NEW YORK — Like a good cleanup man in baseball, Jay-Z delivers big hits on a consistent basis.
On Tuesday night (September 14) at Yankee Stadium, the Brooklyn rapper closed out the fourth of his and Eminem's Home and Home shows (two in Detroit, two in the Bronx) with a performance that would make A-Rod envious.
"Break a record in this bitch, Hov," he rapped during a freestyle right after the opening number, the intro to his The Dynasty: Roc La Familia album. "Hit them with that BALCO."
The Roc Nation head, however, wouldn't need any performance-enhancing substances to give him an extra boost on this night. He confidently cruised through 90 minutes of material; Jay-Z was just as cool as the fall night.
Kanye West quickly arrived onstage two songs into the show for a mini-set of his own, riding shotgun with Hov on the "Power" remix and "Monster."
Jay-Z grabbed the crowd's attention again minutes later with an anecdote about his exit from the venue the night before. The legendary MC said on the way out after Monday's performance he ran into rap pioneer Kool Herc. Jay said he asked Herc to join him for Tuesday night's festivities, thanking Herc for creating hip-hop culture. "We wouldn't be here without you," he said.
"You ready for me to get out of here yet?" 'Ye asked Hov, bringing it back to the present.
"Not yet, we going all the way tonight," Jay-Z responded.
The Chicago star then burst into his "Good Life."
Next, Swizz Beatz joined Jay for "On to the Next One" before Eminem and the iconic lyricist traded verses on their collabo "Renegade." Eminem was agile onstage next to Jay-Z and appeared in arguably the best shape of his career.
"Go to war with the Mormons/ Take a bath with the Catholics," Em rapped. "In holy water/ No wonder they try to hold me under longer/ I'm a mother----in' spiteful, delightful, eyeful/ The new Ice Cube, mother----ers hate to like you."
Earlier in the evening, Eminem brought the capacity crowd to its feet by bringing out 50 Cent, who then brought out G-Unit's Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo with him. The trio from Queens sported glow-in-the-dark gear as the lights cut out during 50's performance of "I Get Money." Later, Fif ceded the stage to Em, and the Detroit superstar brought out Dr. Dre.
The hulking producer treated the crowd to "Still D.R.E." and "Nuthin' but a G Thang" sans Snoop Dogg; Eminem, though, filled in admirably for the Long Beach lyricist.
D-12 also took the stage during Em's set; the group dedicated their hit "My Band" to their fallen friend Proof.
The outfield was filled with fans, and their phones made the grounds look like a Lite-Brite as the screens lit up the stadium.
Jay-Z shouted out hip-hop's fallen heroes during his performance. He picked up Pimp C's "Big Pimpin' " verse a cappella and later ordered the DJ to play the Notorious B.I.G.'s "Juicy" and "One More Chance."
The show was smooth, but not without any hiccups. Drake delivered a stirring version of his "Light Up" with Jay-Z; the Toronto star sported a Blueprint 3-designed Yankees fitted cap to pay homage to Hov. "Welcome to the stage a man that's been getting busy as of late," Jay told the audience. "He goes by the name Drizzy Drake."
But minutes later, Drake stumbled through his and Nicki Minaj's "Up All Night." Hov offered a mulligan to Drake and later a olive branch when he told the crowd during his final song that he may have to offer the Young Money rapper a "free verse" to make up for messing up his sound.
Although Jay's most memorable performance involved his guest stars (Beyoncé also joined him, as did Nicki Minaj), this time it was a familiar face that helped him with the most moving part of the show. Memphis Bleek and Jay-Z ran through a series of the latter's past numbers as an encore.
"I got a million of these," Jay repeated twice, as he introduced songs ranging from "Jigga My N---a," "Dirt Off Your Shoulder" and "Where I'm From."
"For anyone that hasn't been down since Reasonable Doubt," Jay-Z told the crowd shortly after midnight, "you can head to the [exit]."
If you were at the Home and Home shows, share your reviews in the comments!

¿Y a ti? ¿Qué te parece todo esto?

Vicki Gunvalson and Husband: It's Over!
Following a roller coaster marriage that included a vow renewal in late 2009 (pictured) and rumors of infidelity in February 2010, Vicki Gunvalson and husband Donn have finally called it quits.
The Real Housewives of Orange County filed for divorce yesterday, citing "irreconcilable differences."
The couple, who had no children together, often fought on the Bravo reality show, as Vicki famously once said she needed a refill in her "love tank."
Assuming that's some kind of euphemism, she's now free to let any man out there pump her full of premium.

'The Hobbit' Gets The Green Light
Peter Jackson
Photo: Marty Melville/Getty Images
Five months after Guillermo del Toro abandoned the director's chair on "The Hobbit," following years of production delays, , the adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved fantasy novel has reportedly been green-lit.
TheWrap.com, citing an unnamed source close to the project, reports that MGM and Warner Bros. have given the go-ahead for "The Hobbit" to begin production in February. Peter Jackson has already stepped in to direct the two-part series.
A rep for Warners' New Line Cinema had yet to return MTV News' request for comment as of press time.
The latest development comes after years of setbacks. MGM has been waging a very public struggle with financial issues, forcing the studio to join forces with Warner to get the production off the ground. The first film is expected to hit theaters on December 19, 2012, with the second arriving in 2013. While financing is now in place — the Wrap put the budget of the two films at $400 million — labor issues surrounding the New Zealand production remain unresolved, with Screen Actors Guild negotiations still under way.
Word leaked in June that Jackson was in negotiations to take on directing duties following del Toro's departure. Jackson, who directed the three "Lord of the Rings" pictures, is also a producer and co-writer of "The Hobbit."
There is still no confirmation about who will play Bilbo Baggins, the central character, though widespread rumors suggest Martin Freeman (U.K. version of "The Office") remains the front-runner. Sources close to the production have previously confirmed to MTV News that Freeman was indeed del Toro's top pick to play the part.

Who Is Kanye West Cover Artist George Condo?
Kanye West's cover art for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Photo: Def Jam/ twitpic
It's fitting that Kanye West chose New York artist George Condo to create the lusty cover for his upcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. After creating a classics-inspired "moving painting" in collaboration with director/artist Marco Brambilla for the "Power" video — which referenced everything from Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel frescoes to images of Roman orgies and ancient Egyptian themes — West tapped Condo for the cover art for "Power."
The two images the artist created — one a twisted take on Kanye's face with multiple, gaping mouths and wide-open eyes and the other depicting West's decapitated, crown-wearing head with a sword thrust through the left ear — captured both Condo's signature cubist-inspired style and West's career-long fascination with the nexus of high and popular art.
West clearly wanted to push the envelope even further with the album's cover, as the final Condo image depicts a nude, demonically grimacing West reclining on a blue couch and gripping a green bottle while a naked, armless, winged woman with a polka-dot tail straddles him. Though a spokesperson for West's label could not be reached for comment at press time, the rapper claimed that the image had been censored and he may not be able to use it after all.
"So Nirvana can have a naked human being on they cover but I can't have a PAINTING of a monster with no arms and a polka dot tail and wings," West raged in one tweet on Sunday, referring to the iconic image of a naked baby boy swimming after a dollar bill on the cover of the grunge legend's 1991 major label debut, Nevermind.
A few hours later, he announced, "Yoooo they banned my album cover!!!!! Ima tweet it in a few ... ," adding a short while later, "Banned in the USA!!! They don't want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!" West never revealed who allegedly banned his album art (or how it was censored in the wee hours of a Monday morning), but railed against the action, saying it was a double standard.
According to the Los Angeles Times, an unnamed source familiar with West's discussions with his label, Island Def Jam, said the rapper was "strongly urged" to use a different cover image but that he was told that "if he wanted to do it, the label would stand behind him." The reported concern is whether such mass-market retailers as Best Buy and Walmart might not stock the album with the current artwork.
So who is Condo? The 53-year-old contemporary artist and sculptor is known for dark paintings that owe a huge debt to hero Pablo Picasso's cubist masterpieces, as well as Spanish painter Francisco Goya's grim work on such iconic paintings as "Saturn Devouring His Son" and Andy Warhol's skewed take on pop-culture icons.
Condo has been creating beautifully disturbing images for nearly three decades, specializing in provocative paintings with an often-comical tinge, with pieces in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. He burst on the scene in the early 1980s alongside such contemporaries as Julian Schnabel, Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, helping to usher in a new age of painting that mashed up classical sources with a modern, street-art edge.
His style, referred to as "artificial realism," often uses inspiration from Greek mythology and European history, as well as American pop culture, frequently creating bug-eyed, cartoon-like characters with a sinister edge that some critics have referred to as "baroque" and "grotesque."
He has also branched out into more mainstream pop culture lately, creating a line of skateboard decks for Supreme that debuted earlier this year, including one with a twisted take on the Superman character.
In continuing another theme of West's recent appearances, Condo created the artwork for the "Runaway" single, which features a shocked-looking ballerina in a black tutu clutching a glass of wine.
Considering West's constant desire to explore new territory and explode the notions of what passes as hip-hop — from sampling prog-rock icons King Crimson on "Power" to tapping Bon Iver singer Justin Vernon to sing on Fantasy, his fixation on European high fashion and the upcoming debut of his art-house-influenced "Runaway" mini-film — whether the Condo piece ultimately ends up being the cover of the album, West has clearly found a brother-in-arms whose outsider artistic vision matches his own lyrical and musical one.
What do you think of West and Condo's collaboration? Let us know in the comments!
Don't miss the premiere of Kanye West's "Runaway" film at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 23, on MTV and BET.

Mary J. Blige Dishes On Her 'Crazy' Led Zeppelin Covers
Mary J. Blige
Photo: MTV News
You wouldn't peg Mary J Blige as the black-light-and-tapestry sort, but, as has become readily apparent in recent weeks, she absolutely loves Led Zeppelin.
In early February, reports began circulating that Blige had re-recorded Zeppelin's classic "Stairway to Heaven," working with Travis Barker, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson and guitarist Steve Vai on the track, which is slated to appear on the international reissue of her Stronger With Each Tear album, due Monday.
But after she had recorded "Stairway," Blige continued to get the Led out, covering another Zeppelin classic — the thunderous "Whole Lotta Love" — for the album too. And when MTV News caught up with her on the Essence Black Women in Hollywood red carpet, she told us all about channeling her inner Robert Plant for the tracks, a process that came much easier than you'd probably imagine.
"I did Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love' — it's crazy," she said. "I am a Led Zeppelin fan. I'm not going to say I've been to their concerts, but I've listened to their music since I was a child, and it's always moved me, especially 'Stairway to Heaven,' and 'Whole Lotta Love' is just fun."
Blige also said she recorded another new song — a "club record" called "I Can't Wait" — for the re-release. And while it's only slated to hit shelves outside the U.S., she hopes her fans will get a chance to hear all the new songs pretty soon.
"I want y'all to hear it," she laughed.

Kanye West Reveals 'Banned' Cover Art For My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Kanye West
Photo: MJ Kim/ Getty Images
Kanye West is all about pushing the envelope, whether that means singing an entire album in AutoTune, creating a 35-minute art movie to promote his new album or giving that disc a controversial piece of cover art that is sure to turn heads.
West revealed the provocative image on the cover of his upcoming album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, over the weekend on his Twitter and immediately claimed that it had been banned. The colorful illustration by contemporary American painter/sculptor George Condo — who also provided the image for West's "Power" single — depicts a nude, demonically grimacing West reclining on a blue couch and gripping a green bottle while a naked winged woman with a polka-dotted tail straddles him.
"So Nirvana can have a naked human being on they cover but I can't have a PAINTING of a monster with no arms and a polka dot tail and wings," West raged in one tweet, referring to the iconic image of a naked baby boy swimming after a dollar bill on the cover of the grunge legend's 1991 major label debut, Nevermind.
Just before raging about the alleged cover controversy, West noted on Sunday night that he was putting the final touches on the album, which is due out on November 22. "Last day to wrap the album ... I'm feeling so blessed on this day," he wrote. "Finishing my 5th studio album in 6 years! Lining up piano sample replays ... Adding the voice samples from the VMA performance to the album version of 'Runaway' also [so] the whole song is 8 minutes long."
A few hours later, Kanye announced, "Yoooo they banned my album cover!!!!! Ima tweet it in a few ..." adding a short while later, "Banned in the USA!!! They don't want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!" West never revealed who allegedly banned his album art (or how it was censored in the wee hours of a Monday morning), but railed against the action, saying it was a double standard.
"In the '70s album covers had actual nudity ... It's so funny that people forget that ... Everything has been so commercialized now," he complained. He seemed to take it in stride just moments later when he joked, "I know that cover just blew yall minds ... I wish yall could see how hard I'm smiling right now!!!" Always aware of upholding his high artistic standard, Yeezy explained that he "really [doesn't think] about Wal-Mart when I make my music or album covers," launching the new hashtag "#kanyeshrug" as proof.
According to the Los Angeles Times, an unnamed source familiar with West's discussions with his label, Island Def Jam, said the rapper was "strongly urged" to use a different cover image but was told that "if he wanted to do it, the label would stand behind him."
The reported concern is whether such mass-market retailers as Best Buy and Wal-Mart — which still account for up to 10 percent of all CD sales — would carry the album as it is now. A boycott from the chains, which have caused artists from Nirvana to John Mellencamp to either change album art and song titles or face a ban in the past, could have a major impact on sales for 'Ye's latest.

'Stone' Star Milla Jovovich Recalls Fluffing De Niro's Pillow

From the outside looking in, some might argue that one of the biggest perks of being an actor is getting to "hook up" with a variety of partners for cinematic love scenes. And while the end results are often highlight-reel material (a.k.a. our coveted MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss), most actors agree that they're not as sexy as fans make them out to be.
Speaking to that subject, MTV News recently caught up with "Stone" actress Milla Jovovich, who shares a few steamy moments with Hollywood legend Robert De Niro. In the film, Jovovich plays the wife of a convicted arsonist (Edward Norton) who is sent by her husband to try and manipulate his parole officer (De Niro) into granting him an early release. We asked Milla about the scenes, specifically how she and De Niro prepared for the racy sequence.
"We didn't talk about it much beforehand," Jovovich said. "At the same time, I just wanted to make sure he was OK. We were sort of sliding around a little bit on these silk sheets. So it was like, 'Bob, are you OK? Can I fix the pillow?' And he was like, 'No, it's good, thank you.' "
Jovovich went on to say that despite any preconceived notions, the esteemed Oscar-winner is a sweetheart.
"You know he's a very sweet man and I think a lot of times ... obviously everybody has seen all of De Niro's movies, so you get this picture of him that I think his films really influence [your perception]," she said of De Niro's history of playing "these kind of fringe characters." "And so, of course, you come on set expecting him to be these characters when he isn't. I mean he's a really sweet guy and he's a really normal guy.
"Like Edward said, everybody has their process," she added. "You just have to be ready for anything."
Norton also seemed to echo Jovovich's warm feelings about co-star De Niro. "When I found out he was in ['Stone'], and he rang me up too and said, 'This could be really good for us,' that was exciting," Norton recalled to MTV News. "I definitely felt that this will be good for us, and we know each other's rhythms and we can really mix it up in a way that would be thrilling to me."
Check out everything we've got on "Stone."

Justin Bieber Joined By Miley Cyrus, Usher At New York Show

Right up until Justin Bieber took the stage at New York's Madison Square Garden, it was an almost typical stop on the My World Tour, complete with hype man and opening sets from Jessica Jarrell and Sean Kingston, who stepped up his game and brought out Iyaz.
But once Bieber, who was using his New York stop to film the concert footage for his 3-D movie, hit the stage, it was on, and the crowd's screams reached a deafening pitch. Dressed in his white and purple tour regalia, he kicked off the show with "Love Me," complete with karate-friendly dance moves. Any signs that Bieber had fallen ill only two days before weren't remotely evident. He turned his swag on for "Bigger" and for the cameras filming the show for his upcoming film.
"What's up, New York City? Welcome to my world. We are gonna have a lot of fun tonight. I got a lot of surprises in store for you guys!" he told the crowd before going straight into the fan favorite "U Smile," the next single he's expected to release. The catch: He was joined by Boyz II Men for the Motown-flavored track. "Boyz II Men sing it," he told the legendary R&B act before exchanging high fives. "These people are the ones who made me want to start singing." And then the group performed their tune "On Bended Knee," which they dedicated to Bieber's mom.
Bieber reclaimed the show with his song "Runaway Love," with no Kanye West or Raekwon in sight. "New York City, are you ready to have some fun? I'm filming good. We're shooting the movie," he told the crowd before getting into his heart cage and flying over the audience for "Never Let You Go" and "Favorite Girl," all while playing the guitar.
"You know, I guess I was right. There are a lot of people in here!" he proclaimed before bringing a girl onto the stage for "One Less Lonely Girl."
Bieber was then ready to bring out the big guns. Usher would be the next special guest of the night, setting the party off during Bieber's rendition of "Somebody to Love," giving the pop sensation a big hug before leaving the stage.
But Usher was only the first of the super superstars. Teen queen and 3-D movie vet Miley Cyrus then joined Bieber onstage as he slowed things down a bit for "Overboard." "I got to tell you something," Bieber said. "My motto to live by, there's gonna be times in your life when people tell you you can't do something. This is what I tell 'em: 'Never Say Never.' " And as rumored, Jaden Smith took the stage to rap his heart out to one very excited crowd during the track.
Left alone again, during "Up" Bieber flew over the stage in a cage and every girl went nuts. And after the crowd was reminded to make some noise, Bieber showed his fans how much he loves them by singing "One Time" followed by "That Should Be Me."
"It's gonna get crazy in here! You ready to get crazy?" he asked the crowd, which pretty much had been getting crazy all night. Then Sean Kingston hit the stage with Biebs for their collabo, "Eenie Meenie."
Soon the crowd was instructed to light up the room by waving their cell phones while Bieber sang "Down to Earth," during which he played a white baby-grand piano. Blowing kisses to the crowd, he departed the stage before his encore.
"I heard you screaming, so I thought I'd come back out here. I want to thank everyone. Madison Square Garden is a big deal for me ... and I'm really blessed," he said. "So I want to say thank you! Anyways, let's do another song!"
He closed out the night with his megahit "Baby" and was joined by Ludacris and lots of fireworks. The MSG show proved that when Bieber asks you to show up for his massively fun 3-D movie taping, you show up.

Rick Ross Gunning For Hottest MC Honors

To hear Rick Ross tell it, he deserves to be heading to Hawaii this year, and not just to work on Kanye West's forthcoming album. The Miami rapper likened being tapped one of the Hottest MCs in the Game to Peyton Manning earning All-Pro honors.
And with arguably the best song of the year ("B.M.F. [Blowin' Money Fast]"), the album of the year (Teflon Don) and the mixtape of the year (The Albert Anastasia EP), Ross expects to make the cut later this month.
"I'm thinking I had a dope year," he told MTV News. "I'm gonna keep it real.
"I Iove it, it's like the Pro Bowl to the NFL, everybody wants to get to Hawaii," Ross continued. "It's a roundtable that I could truly say I respect the integrity of the roundtable and the dudes that are actually out there. Because these are dudes that are at the tours, they're at the shows, they're at the awards, they feel what's happening on the streets and they can really gauge the temperature of what's going on for everybody that's at home."
Ross is coming off of back-to-back top five Hottest MC finishes. He landed at #5 last year and in 2008 he was voted #4.
When the Hottest MCs debate debuted in 2007, however, Ross didn't make the list. He recalled sitting at home watching that show and the fire it lit in him once he saw the final tally.
"Of course, a lot of times when you're not in the top 10, you're gonna be sour," he explained. "I was one of the main ones sitting at home like, man, I'm better than that dude at #8, I got him. But everything is about timing. It's about putting up those statistics, putting up those numbers and giving people a reason to argue. Give them points to argue on. I smile a lot of times at the other artists coming up and I reflect, yeah, he did put his groundwork in."
